Data & methodology
How our university research is assembled
getin-univ assembles reproducible public-data snapshots. These are not live feeds from admissions offices.
The quantitative foundation
Federal College Scorecard and IPEDS data provide the foundation for institution facts. School-authored Common Data Set documents and other cited sources supply additional detail. We normalize records by institution identifier and retain field-level source, reporting period, retrieval information, and confidence.
Public profiles and qualitative material
Public university answers are assembled from the same institution repository used by the workspace. Questions without underlying data may be omitted. Qualitative descriptions come from cited evidence, including institutional websites, and should not be read as independently established rankings or guarantees.
The public directory includes institutions with published public pages; it is not a comprehensive list of every U.S. university.
Limitations and responsible use
Coverage varies by institution, source, and reporting year. Figures from different reporting periods or student populations may not be directly comparable. Missing data is not evidence of poor university quality. Our data-quality indicators describe coverage, not rankings.
Always verify current costs, deadlines, requirements, and policies with the university. Admissions positioning is advisory, not a prediction of an individual decision. Net price and earnings statistics do not promise your family's costs or a student's future income.
Automation and corrections
Data preparation uses normalization and automated checks. Some research and optional workspace assistance use language models. Automation can make mistakes and does not replace official sources or your own review.
Report a suspected error through Contact & corrections, including the page URL, disputed fact, and an authoritative source if available. Do not send student records or other sensitive information.
